Terms of service
Last updated 16 August 2026
Plain terms for a monitoring service. Read the section on what PharosHub does not do — it is the part people assume wrongly.
1. What you are buying
PharosHub is an early-warning monitoring service. You install our software package into your own application. It observes requests to paths you designate as traps, reports the origin your pages are served from, and sends those observations to us. We correlate them and notify you.
A subscription covers one website, identified by the domain you register. Covering another site requires another subscription.
2. What PharosHub does not do
This is monitoring, not protection. Specifically, the service does not and will not:
- Block, filter, redirect, challenge, or rate-limit any visitor to your site
- Prevent, stop, or remediate an attack
- Take down, contact, or act against a third party on your behalf
- Guarantee that every attack, probe, or copy of your site will be detected
Detection depends on attacker behaviour. Someone who avoids your trap paths, or who removes our beacon from their copy of your site, will not appear. We say this here because a monitoring product that implies completeness is worse than none.
3. Your responsibilities
- You must own or be authorised to monitor the domain you register.
- You keep your site key secret. Anyone holding it can write into your evidence trail.
- You keep your own security controls — edge protection, patching, access control — in place. This service does not replace any of them.
- You are responsible for acting, or not acting, on what we report.
4. Fees
Plans are billed monthly in advance, plus a one-time setup fee per site charged on the first invoice. Prices are shown on the pricing page and at checkout before you commit. We will give at least 30 days’ notice by email before changing the price of an existing subscription.
Payments are processed by our payment provider. We never receive or store your card number, expiry, or security code.
5. Cancellation
You may cancel at any time from the billing screen. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for — we do not switch off monitoring the moment you click cancel. See the refunds page for what is and is not refundable.
6. Suspension
We may suspend collection if payment fails, if the registered domain is not one you are entitled to monitor, or if the service is used to monitor a site with the intent of attacking it. We will tell you why.
7. Availability
We aim for continuous availability but do not offer a contractual uptime guarantee on these plans. If our collector is unreachable, the installed package queues observations and retries; it never blocks or breaks your site as a result.
8. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the fees you paid in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for losses arising from an attack we did not detect, from action or inaction taken on a report, or from your own security controls.
Nothing here limits liability for fraud, or for anything that cannot be limited by law.
9. Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be emailed to the address on your account at least 30 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept them.
